   There are several reasons why Black Sea anchovies are cheap:

   • Plenty: There is an abundance of anchovy in the Black Sea.
   • weather conditions: Cold weather makes anchovies fat and flavorful, which can reduce the price.
   • Season: With the opening of the fish season, prices usually decrease.
   • Rivalry: Competition between fishermen in different regions can reduce prices.

   For example, while the price of anchovy was 150 TL per kilo in December 2024, it was sold for 125-150 TL in March 2025.
