There are several reasons why Jack Daniel’s whiskey is expensive:
Production Process: Jack Daniel’s is produced by passing the whiskey through a charcoal filter, called the “Lincoln County Process”. This extra filtering step separates the product from other whiskeys and increases the cost.
Quality and Rarity: Special editions, such as Single Barrel, are produced individually from each barrel and produced in limited numbers, making them rarer and therefore more expensive.
Alcohol Content: High alcohol content increases production costs and taxes.
Additionally, the long history and large market share of the Jack Daniel’s brand allows prices to be kept high.
