The main institution that supervises food safety is the General Directorate of Food and Control under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey..
Food safety is also audited by the following institutions:
Food Safety and Control Directorate. This directorate inspects the minimum technical and hygienic conditions of food businesses and checks compliance with Turkish food legislation.
Market Regulatory Bodies (PDK). These organizations, which are proposed to be activated, will assume responsibility and function in matters such as ensuring food supply security, making the system more resistant to dangers and ensuring price stability.
Food safety has protocols supported by various legal regulations and standards at national and international levels. The regulations that set out these protocols and monitor their implementation require food producers and processors to comply with certain rules and meet food safety standards.
