Nutrition of children aged 0-11 varies according to age groups:
0-1 years old: Exclusive breastfeeding is recommended for the first 6 months, then breastfeeding with complementary foods is recommended for at least 2 years. The use of salt and sugar is prohibited.
1-3 years old: Children imitate their parents’ feeding behavior. Food portions should be appropriate to the age of the child.
4-6 years old: Children should be introduced to new foods. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
6-12 years old: Children move away from home and begin to make their own dietary decisions. Healthy snacks should be included in the lunch box.
In general, the following foods are recommended for a healthy diet for children:
whole grains: Bulgur, whole grain bread, oats.
fruits and vegetables: Provides various minerals and vitamins.
Et: Chicken, fish, red meat.
Dairy products: Milk, cheese, yoghurt.
berries: Walnuts, hazelnuts.
Sugary junk foods, processed foods, and foods containing excessive amounts of sodium should be avoided.
