Ribeye and steak are not the same, but ribeye is a type of steak.
Steak is the name given to slices obtained from certain parts of beef, usually boneless and lean. Ribeye, on the other hand, is obtained from the fatty part of the back of the beef, close to the rib area.
Additionally, fillet and tenderloin are also types of steak.
