Imaret, which means “to flourish and prosper” in the dictionary, within the Ottoman civilization; It is the name of a social complex-style structure consisting of social service buildings such as mosques, madrasahs, hospitals, libraries, hangahs, guesthouses, baths and caravanserais, or in the narrow sense, it is a passage of this structure that undertakes the duty of feeding the needy and means soup kitchen.
The term imaret describes both inverted T-plan zawiyas and kitchens where free meals are distributed.
