No, Nutella and hazelnut spread are not the same.
Nutella is a 13% hazelnut cream containing cocoa and milk powder. Hazelnut cream is a food made with hazelnuts, sugar and oil. Oil is not used when making hazelnut paste, while sunflower oil or hazelnut oil is used in hazelnut cream.
Additionally, there are different opinions about whether Nutella contains real hazelnuts. While some sources claim that Nutella contains only hazelnut flavor, others argue that the product is made from real hazelnuts.
